Reminder: My Wonderful Body Series Starts Wednesday

Hi there –

Just wanted to send you a quick reminder that the My Wonderful Body morning conversation series starts on Wednesday, February 15th at 10 am EST and runs daily through March 6th.

I’m really looking forward to this particular series because I’m noticing a much desired change in how I think about my body coming up in ways that I haven’t experienced before.

I want to share with you a quote from the Weight: What Is It Good For? workshop that we had back in December of 2010. This pretty much says it all for me and I hope you’ll find some of the same relief that I do in it:

Pay attention to your body as that creation of yours that unconditionally loves you. Since it unconditionally loves you it’s not going to be sitting there reprimanding you or be upset with you.

I just can’t begin to describe what it feels like to read that (and hear it in the workshop recording). It’s like a breath of fresh air. It’s like getting a reprieve from a long-awaited punishment. What it really is, I suppose, is a truce, a cease-fire, and a reconciliation all rolled up into one after a long battle.

However you want to think about, it simply feels better.

So, I’m very much looking forward to walking through many delicious conversations with Paul as they expand further and further on this topic and help us connect with our very wonderful, amazing, powerful, and delicious creation: the body!

The parts of the weight that you don’t want have actually been serving a purpose. For many of you, but not for everyone, your weight is your way of protecting yourself from other people or from circumstances or situation most of which are long gone.

But in other cases your weight is there to serve you as a reminder that there is something substantial that you have control over in your life.

The first step is to realize, “this is my creation and I don’t like it. But it has served a purpose for me. It has done exactly what I asked it to do” — whatever that was.

Your weight is a way or rebelling against an authority that you don’t want to listen to in the first place.

It’s as though you want to see them coming before they even get there.

By that we mean when you’re walking around in the world and you brush up against a concept, that with each of these concepts, no matter where they’re coming from, what the topic is, that you’re aware of deciding in the moment:

“Do I want to line up with this or not?”

“And if I don’t then I’ll just go on my merry way.”

“And if I do, I’ll sit and take it in and blend with it and find a way to integrate with it.”

What we’re suggesting you want is to decide at the beginning when you’re encountering something that, from your perspective is: “Do I want to experience this? Blend with this? More of this or not?”

Culturalization has said to you, and this goes back far into the past, what’s smart, what’s prudent is to take something and look at it from every angle, to examine it.

And we love your curiosity but this is where things turn into a direction where you don’t really want them to go because when you realize, “oh, looking at it doesn’t mean I have to believe it, I can keep it a little further away from me energetically and look at it.”

And then decide: “Does this feel better to me or not? And if it does feel better than I’ll go deeper and I’ll explore more,” and that sort of thing.

For right now because it’s a very big habit for you. What you are doing is you are saying: “well there’s this new thing let me take it in and sort it out inside of me.”

Not everyone has that issue but many people who are dealing with the topic that we are discussing right now, that weight has a way of showing up when you don’t know how to manage that internal examination within yourself and you just keep gathering more and more things that you don’t want.

And in way that a little piece of wood slips itself into your finger the body then tends to build protective cells around that idea so as to protect you from something that you don’t really want.

Question: Which is the analyzing?

It’s taking on the idea itself. You take on an idea that you don’t really like but you see it’s logic because you do have that ability to perceive keenly…

Question: For example – not eating in the evening…

You see the logic of that first, but you also know there’s something even bigger going on, which is your body, can handle pretty much anything that’s being thrown at it. And it will handle it in exactly the way that you expect it to handle it.

Pay attention to your body as that creation of yours that unconditionally loves you. Since it unconditionally loves you it’s not going to be sitting there reprimanding you or be upset with you.
